Studio manager (and world-class synthesizer technician), Steve Jones, will also give us his insight into operating in such an environment, and maintaining these vintage devices in peak condition.
This talk explores how modern machine learning techniques have advanced automatic audio stem separation - the process of isolating instruments from mixed recordings. We’ll look at the challenges involved in source separation, how recent AI developments have made high-quality separation possible, real-world applications in music production, and the technology behind AudioStrip.
The Committee will provide an update on its plans for conferences and other events over the coming year, invite feedback and ideas for topics to be covered in future events, and explain how you can get involved.
Tickets are free but limited. Join AES NY Section and music industry colleagues as we explore SPACE as compositional element – and its effects on audio production – at Dolby Labs’ New York Screening Room. Composers have been using melody, rhythm, and harmony for thousands of years. Musique concrète expanded the use of timbre 75 years ago. Are we at the verge of another musical disruption? What if, using space as a compositional tool, songwriters, composers, and producers not only mixed but composed in immersive systems? Can SPACE become a new element of music? Following the tremendous success of its recent premiers in San Francisco and Hollywood, AES New York invites you to this industry-exclusive event: the latest research presentation and demonstration about the use of space in music composition and production, by composer Julius Dobos and producer BZ Lewis. Audio engineers, producers, composers, songwriters and music creators of all disciplines are encouraged to join us to network, explore SPACE as an element of music composition, and experience demonstrations of new, spatially-composed music & immersive mixes in the Dolby 88.
