Some Guidelines for Tuning an Audio Coder Given a Partially Fixed Structure

Authors: Pena, Antonio S.

AES Convention 106 · Paper 4933 · May 1999

Abstract

Current audio coders can be classified in two different types, depending on their degrees of freedom when implementing them: fixed or partially fixed structures. Several techniques for driving the fixed parts of coding structures are presented, allowing both a coarse and fine tuning of the coder depending on the complexity considered.
