AB - Signals outside the human auditory range nonetheless have some impact on audio recording. Pop and impulse measurements analyze the sub-audio and ultrasonic regions. While pop measurements can be directly understood and correlated with known subjective impressions, impulse measurements still leave some questions open. Data from both measurement types is presented and discussed quantitatively, and regarding their relevance for the audio engineer. Their dependency on microphone construction aspects is explained.
