AB - A theoretical model of the distributed mode loudspeaker (DML) is presented, and compared to that of a conventional, mass-controlled loudspeaker. Electromechanical modelling results are compared to real measurements of example DMLs. The implications of uniform directivity and diffuse radiation to room interactions are discussed.
