AB - Personal computers are destined to replace some classes of consumer audio equipment. The quality of the audio sub-system in the PC is therefore becoming more important. This paper discusses the method by which PC manufacturers are encouraged to design-in good quality audio capability, highlights the signal paths within a typical PC and indicates some measurement techniques which may be used to verify performance.
