Abstract

This paper presents a conceptual design for a comptuter-controlled sound system that makes extensive use of off-the-shelf hardware and software technology and accepted standards in networking, computers, and embedded systems. The design uses components that have been developed and tested in many other applications, thus allowing a high-performance, reliable system to be fielded at a relatively low cost. The design can be applied to any network that meets basic performance requirements outlined in the paper.
