Room Modes and Low-Frequency Responses in Small Enclosures

Authors: Walker, R.

AES Convention 100 · Paper 4194 · May 1996

Abstract

The paper discusses the influence of room modes on low-frequency responses in relatively small rooms and a calculation method based on the summation of low-frequency eigentone responses. The predictions are compared with the measured response for the same conditions. Reasonable agreement is obtained, but errors due to uncertainties in the acoustic behavior of the room boundaries remained.
