FM Stereo Receiver Performance as a Function of Pilot Circuit Design

Authors: Csicsatka, Antal; Linz, Robert M.

Journal of the Audio Engineering Society · Volume 12 · Issue 3 · pp. 192–198 · July 1964

Abstract

This paper discusses block diagrams of various pilot receivers as well as general considerations for the design of a doubler-type receiver. A tube and transistor pilot receiver is investigated in detail; circuit Q, intermodulation, harmonic distortion and circuit stability problems are examined. Finally, coil stability is studied and the results for two coil samples are presented.
