Authors: Cutmore, Nick A.

Abstract

The need for some way of controlling the dynamic range of high-quality audio program material when listening under less-than-perfect conditions is well understood, but are different methods of control advantageous when more than two audio channels are present? This paper discusses what control signals may be needed and how tests will help to provide the answers.
