Authors: Baldini, Attila; Nottoli, Giorgio; Paterlini, Carlo Alberto

AES Convention 103 · Paper 4538 · September 1997

Abstract

A new digital mixing console has been developed, using only one low-cost DSP. Computing resources are usually mostly devoted to improve the specifications figures. On the contrary, this new console has been designed to exploit most of its software programming to provide for a better user interface and automated mixing optimizations. Some artificial intelligence software functions have been developed and patented, in order to improve the quality aspects and the user-friendliness of the mixing job. This paper describes some design choices and their end results.
