AB - One of the characteristics of a worn phonograph record is its reproduced noise. Most studies of record wear consider the operating conditions of the phonograph record and cartridge and assume the employment of a well polished stylus tip. In this paper we will describe measurements of record wear or noise as related to gradations of stylus tip finish.
