Abstract

Metal tapes like DAT have caused concern among users due to alleged problems of corrosion and instability when compared to Cobalt Oxide tapes. A production method for the stabilized metal tapes has been developed and applied to DAT. This report also relates to the change of the magnetic properties, RF output, C/N, dropout, and tape runability of DAT stored under various environmental atmospheres.
