AB - The traditional method of controlling echo in teleconferencing is to attenuate the gain in the return signal path. Using adaptive filters reduces the acoustic and line echo so that less gain attenuation is needed to control the echo, thus, allowing more interactive communication. Although the performance of today's DSP-based teleconferencing systems have improved, they are still limited by the long-standing problems of excessive room vibration and background noise.
