Measurement and Perception of Quality in Sound Systems

Authors: Thurmond, Bob

AES Conference: 11th International Conference: Test & Measurement · Paper 11-017 · May 1992

Abstract

It is possible to measure the subjective quality of a sound system by straightforward objective techniques, but not those commonly used for this purpose. The reasons for this discrepancy will be revealed through an analysis of the primary subjective parameters and various means for measuring them. A set of measurement requirements will be developed, and specific techniques suggested.
