Acoustical Design for Scoring Stages

Authors: Schwind, David R.

AES Convention 87 · Paper 2864 · October 1989

Abstract

In recent years numerous technical papers have described research for adequate audience listening conditions in performing halls. Additionally there has been some research in the area of acoustical conditions necessary to promote ensemble. It is clear that not all good recording halls make good listening halls and vice versa. This paper focuses on the acoustical requirements for sound stages and halls being designed primarily for recording purposes without audiences.
