A Stereophonic Imaging System for Car Audio

Authors: Grimani, Anthony

AES Convention 91 · Paper 3190 · October 1991

Abstract

Car Audio has achieved the status of hi-fidelity in terms of frequency response and dynamic range. However, due to constraints of the listening environment, one key element is still missing: Imaging. The author describes an invention which allows each listener within the automobile to perceive an accurate stereophonic image, without degradation or alteration of the originally intended program material performance.
