AB - The analysis and resynthesis of musical sounds has been addressed by many authors, usually with Fourier Transform related techniques. These techniques involve a representation of signals in terms of contributions equally spaced on the linear frequency axis. The constant Q filters are closer to the hearing models. A method that would combine a decomposition in elementary contributions and hearing like properties would be very attractive. The Wavelet Transform is such a method. The principles of the method are reminded, an implementation is reviewed, some musical examples are given.
