The nature, causes, and magnitudes of various audio signal defects in the BTSC system for Television Multichannel Sound are summarized with considerations to FCC standards, EIA recommended practices for transmitters, receiver design, and various impairments incurred in over the air broadcasting and in cable television distribution systems.
