AB - This paper is a description and discussion of the techniques employed for the control of audio switching and monitoring equipment from an IBM AT or XT Compatible Computer. The RS-422 serial interface between computer and peripheral equipment is defined, and the software protocol is described. An overview of the operation and control of switching matrix's, relay remote control, ambient noise analysis, digital gain control, digital delays, automatic mixers, paging, monitoring and testing, and digitally controlled equalizers is included.
