A New Technique for Minimizing Distortion

Authors: Frey, Douglas R.

Journal of the Audio Engineering Society · Volume 31 · Issue 5 · pp. 320–325 · May 1983

Abstract

Most amplifiers today are based on designs that exhibit low distortion. Feedforward and feedback schemes have been suggested to refine the circuit performance further, each possessing inherent advantages and drawbacks. A method is presented which provides an improvement in performance by modulating the loop gain of a feedback amplifier. Following a theoretical discussion are experimental results that test the theory.
