AB - A PCM multichannel tape recorder employing semi-separate code format is developed. Semi-separate code format presented at the AES 66th Convention (preprint 1669) describes the powerful format that makes the recorder reliable. The unit has 1-in, 30 ips pinch rollerless tape transport. This paper describes the performance and structure of the recorder.
