AB - A prototype minicomputer based mixing desk will be described in which all functions, including mixing and equalization, are implemented by real time digital signal processing hardware. The prototype mixer has 16 input channels, 8 track outputs and full monitoring and auxiliary facilities. The device is currently in operational use at THORN EMI's Abbey Road Studio in London undergoing extended operational trials.
