AB - VOSIM (VOice SIMulation) sound synthesis is based on the idea that by employing repeating tone-burst signals of variable pulse duration and variable delay, a sound output of high linguistic and musical expressive power can be obtained. Conventional means such as oscillator and filter banks were therefore entirely dispensed with, basically simpler apparatus being used instead: two tone-burst generators and a mixer. Starting with these rudiments, the aim is an optimal representation of the input data and a progressive application of logical calculus to the sound-synthesis process.
