Walsh Functions in Waveform Synthesizers

Authors: Insam, E.

Journal of the Audio Engineering Society · Volume 22 · Issue 6 · pp. 422–425 · August 1974

Abstract

The set of orthogonal binary waveforms described by Walsh are easily generated with conventional logic elements and can be used to synthesize any complex time waveform. A machine that generates the first sixteen functions is described with particular application in the electronic music field.
