AB - By repetitively recycling an audio signal through a digital time-delay module, one can produce reverberation which usually sounds decidedly unlike natural reverberation. This paper discusses the electronic and psychoacoustic considerations involved in the development of a time-delay/reverberation system whose goal is the convincing synthesis of a quadraphonic ambient sound field from monophonic or stereophonic program material.
