Audio Visual Engineering-A New Discipline?

Authors: Szabo, William

Journal of the Audio Engineering Society · Volume 16 · Issue 1 · pp. 14–17 · January 1968

Abstract

The information explosion has created the need for engineering, at a professional level, of sophisticated audio-visual communication systems for learning and business information management environments. The theoretical background of audio-visual communications is examined and a basis for a rigorous engineering discipline is suggested. Examples of audio-visual systems developed for industry and some of the new technology developed at Expo '67 are discussed.
