AB - In classic and acoustic guitars that use standard tuning, the same pitch can be produced at different strings. The aim of this article is to present a method based on the time and frequency-domain characteristics of the recorded sound to determine, not only the pitch but also the string of the guitar that has been played to produce that pitch. This system will provide information not only of the pitch of the notes played, but also about how those notes were played. This specific information can be valuable to identify the style of the player and can be used in teaching to play the guitar.
