AB  - [Feature Article] In December 2004 we reported on recent developments in the world of digital radio, highlighting systems that had been growing in importance both for terrestrial and satellite-based delivery of digital audio to stationary and mobile receivers. We now offer a summary of the current situation with terrestrial digital radio broadcasting in the U.S., based on the in-band, on-channel (IBOC) system, including information on the various initiatives to introduce surround sound into the equation.
