AB - Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filters for real-time audio applications can today be realized comparably easy and cost-effectively with state-of-the-art DSP technology. FIR filters have real advantages over regular Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) filters in loudspeaker controllers with regard to straight-forward linear-phase component equalization and significant improvements in the radiation pattern of cabinets with noncoincident drivers.
