AB - Early-to-late energy ratios are used to predict speech intelligibility. The computation is based on the measured impulse response for a source-microphone combination. When measurement is corrupted by extraneous noise, the upper limit of integration cannot be the total time of acquisition, but a new time limit value defined as the useful length of the impulse response. This limit is validated with the reverberation time computed from the Schroeder backward integral. Results are shown for three highly reverberant rooms.
