AB - The aesthetics and techniques used in the creation of early analog tape-based electronic music were influenced by music compositional practices from the 1880s through the first half of the 20th century. Examining these earlier acoustic pieces and a their notable compositional techniques has helped provide an aesthetic context for students studying early tape-based electronic music and their analog recording projects at the University of Colorado at Denver.
