Acousti-Architectural Considerations in the Harris County Domed Statium

Authors: Wilson, Talbott

AES Convention 17 · Paper 425 · October 1965

Abstract

This structure, involving the largest roomin the world and assuming the worst of all possible forms for sound control, was thus an inherently accoustical albatross. That it has turned out to be more satisfactory acoustically is the result of good advice and eternal vigilance. The details are the old story of making architectural virtues of acoustical necessities.
