A Sound Stimulus Source for Psychological Experimentation

Authors: Cooley, John A.

Journal of the Audio Engineering Society · Volume 10 · Issue 3 · pp. 204–207 · July 1962

Abstract

The problems involved in reliably reproducing and communicating sound stimuli among the psychological sciences has proved to be a stumbling block for many experimenters in these areas. This unique generator, by means of a photoresistive controlled oscillator and various photoresistive controlled networks can reproduce a specifiable, complex sound sequence. The various parameters of the sound sequence are controlled by a printed disc which can be accurately reproduced via the printed page, without significant decrease in quality. Frequency, waveform and amplitude control are offered by the photoelectric control methods.
