Some virtual source imaging systems, for example the stereo dipole, use digital finite impulse response filters to give a listener the impression that sound is coming from a position in space where no real sound source exists. A time domain filter design method is presented that allows selective attenuation of unwanted peaks in the spectrum of the reproduced sound.
