A Sines+Transients+Noise Audio Representation for Data Compression and Time/Pitch Scale Modifications

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate a low bit rate audio coding algorithm that allows modifications in the compressed domain. The input audio is segregated into three different representations: sinusoids, transients, and noise. Each representation can be individually quantized, and then easily be time-scaled and/or pitch-shifted.
