This paper investigates a particular subset of nonlinear distortion found in cone loudspeakers. This distortion is defined as the changes in frequency response transfer function as the cone moves from rest position. Subjective listening tests were performed, and the distortion proved to be audible with certain music selections. These subjective tests correlate strongly with measured data from multiple test methods.
