The Influence of Sound Absorption in Air on the Results of Acoustic Scale Model Measurements

The sound absorption in air has a great influence on the results of the measurements made on scale models of auditoriums. A simple method is proposed for estimating the correct values of the acoustical parameters measured in the models. This method is valid for test signals with a wide spectrum, such as a spark discharge. It can be used for the measurement of clarity, definition index, and integral acoustic parameters.
