Computer Modeling of Air Distortion in Compression Chamber of Horn Drivers with Centrally Supportede Diaphragm

The linear distortion of a signal in recently proposed horn drivers with a centrally supported diaphragm is calculated by the accurate solution of the differential equation with impedance boundary conditions, describing the wave process in a chamber with an internal circumferential exit. Nonlinear distortion of the air due to the nonlinear adiabatic compression at high sound-pressure levels is accurately modeled while considering the complex impedance of the air chamber load and the wave process. The influence of ferrofluid and air viscous losses on the driver`s output is also considered.
