Nonlinear Modeling of Low-Frequency Loudspeakers-A More Complete Model

A central part of the Danish LoDist project has been the derivation of an extended equivalent circuit and a corresponding set of differential equations suitable for the simulation of high-fidelity woofers under large and very large (clipping) signal conditions. A model including suspension creep and eddy current losses seem to be sufficient, but all the parameters of the model vary with the diaphragm position. The model and the associated set of nonlinear differential equations and the solution of the equations are discussed.
