Differentiating Between Sound Isolation and Sound Treatment

The paper reveals frequent errors in solving acoustic problems because of failure to differentiate between the requirements of acoustically isolating a space and its internal treatment. The paper examines methods of controlling air-borne and structural transmission and acoustic methods of listening spaces. Appropriate case studies are cited as examples.
