The paper reveals frequent errors involving acoustic problems because of failure to differentiate between the requirements of acoustically isolating a space and its internal treatment. The paper examines methods of treating controlling airborne and structural transmission and acoustic methods of treating spaces. Appropriate case studies are cited as examples.
