Robustness of the Performance of the "Stereo Dipole" to Misalignment of Head Position

Binaural sound reproduction over loudspeakers requires that the listener`s head must be in position to get good sound images. The performance deteriorates when the listener`s head is moved out of position. Computer simulations and subjective experiments show that the stereo dipole, a system comprising two loudspeakers that are close together, is very robust with respect to head movement.
