AB - Intelligibility of sung texts depends on speed of articulation and degree of homogeneity of timbre. Pitch variation not exceeding major third preserves these characteristics. By using pre-recorded loops of raw material, a fifth apart, total vocal range can be covered. Within these limits text, rhythm, timbre and intelligibility are preserved and by varying playback velocity, any desired melodic contours realized.
