Auralization in Scale Models: Phase Compensation of Viscothermal Attenuation

Acoustical measurements on models offer a time- and cost-efficient method for determining the acoustical properties of enclosures. In order to listen in the models, phase compensation for excessive air attenuation at high frequency is needed. We present both the theoretical approach and the experimental verification. Based on this work, compensated impulse responses have been obtained and will be demonstrated.
