A Novel Loudspeaker Enclosure and System

A loudspeaker`s response is a product of the acoustic response of the driver and the enclosure reacting to one another. A novel loudspeaker enclosure is proposed which acts to optimize the acoustical loading of the driver`s diaphragm, and thus equalize the driver`s response acoustically. The enclosure, using a novel approach, produces a frequency-dependent load which linearizes the time and frequency domain response of the loudspeaker, and substantially improves sound reproduction as compared to conventional designs. The enclosure is structurally rigid, its shape can be adjusted to fit any space requirements (e.g. a flat enclosure or a TV enclosure) without compromising the loudspeaker response, and it can be mass produced (e.g. using plastic foam injection and assembly techniques).
