AB - The sustained growth of the telephone industry reflects the increased demand for local service and continental long distance messages. But there are two other areas where the growth of communications services exceeds these -ordinary- services. One area is the demand for overseas communications. The other growth area is for the so-called -special services.- These are the networks of private communications lines, service to a distant exchange, the pathways interconnecting TV and radio stations, etc.
