Besides the development of measuring methods using perceptual models, an increase of subjective tests to assess the quality of sound events or systems can be recognized. Therefore, several international standardization organizations are dealing with specifying and/or harmonizing of appropriate listening conditions, such as characteristics of listening rooms, loudspeakers, arrangements of loudspeakers and listeners, and other methodical rules for subjective assessment. The paper compares some of the most important requirements of different new (draft) recommendations from ITU Radio Communications (formerly CCIR), EBU, AES, or OIRT.
