This paper is about errors. Errors that arise in audio devices, errors that we hear or don`t hear, and errors in the way we think about the design and specification of audio devices. Why? Perhaps the strangest thing about audio design is the gulf between our traditional methods of specifying and evaluating audio components and the way we use them - as conveyors of meaningful programme material for human listeners.
