Vulnerable points of ADPCM encoding after CD-1 format have been studied. A new processing structure of encoding is proposed as a solution for the characteristic noise and the deterioration of sound quality, and its performance is examined through the result of evaluation tests. Consideration about general problems in the realization of ADPCM encoder is also mentioned.
