Despite significant recent advances in many aspects of sound quality, performance loudspeakers are still quite deficient in several areas, such as uniformity of audience coverage. The nature and magnitude of these problems are analyzed and documented with measurements, and desirable improvements are discussed. Means for dealing with the various problems are explored, and possible new designs are considered.
